Daniel Cormier: The Unstoppable Beast.

This past weekend.  Daniel Cormier successfully defended his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship,  against Anthony Johnson in a rematch from 2015. Cormier has been fighting nonstop from unknown to known.

Starting in 2009. Cormier has defeated the very best. Names from Dan Henderson to Anderson Silva to Anthony Johnson. Currently holding a record of twenty-one and one,  he has only lost to Jon Jones. People may say he doesn’t look tough but when an opponent steps in the octagon with Cormier. They are nowhere near ready for the unstoppable beast.

After losing to Jones. A match between Ryan Bader, but after Jones was stripped of the Light Heavyweight Championship. Cormier was pulled out and replaced Jones against Anthony Johnson, at UFC 187. defeating him by rear neck choke in the third round to win his first Light Heavyweight Championship.

Defending against Alexander Gustafsson, Anderson Silva who filled in for a suspended Jon Jones  and recently a rematch between Anthony Johnson.  Cormier won all three and retired Anthony Johnson to not only retain, but prove that he is the face of the light heavyweights for a reason.

Cormier still has many doubters to prove wrong.  From fans to reporters,  but the fact that he can go in, beat down his opponents and win the Light Heavyweight Championship is just the start of a reaction change from those naysayers to fans of the unstoppable beast, Daniel Cormier.

Tyron Woodley Retains Welterweight Championship by Majority Decision Over Stephen Thompson.

Tonight at UFC 209: Thompson VS Woodley. The main event was the long awaited rematch between Stephen Thompson and Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.

As the first round began. Both men did absolutely nothing to each other besides walking around and staring at each other with the crowd booing both men and chanting for them to fight.

Throughout the second round both men had a repeat of the first round by doing nothing and you’d think that both men would want to dominate one another after all the hype they put into this rematch.

Now into the third round,  Woodley took down Thompson to try and get the action going only for it to replay the last two rounds of staring and feint punches and kicks for another wasted round.

Into the fourth round and both men are now getting into the action as Thompson goes for head kicks only to get taken down by Woodley as the round was almost shown to have more action but instead be wasted for the fourth time.

It’s now the fifth and final round, both men are looking for a clean knockout strike but it is more of staring at each other and do nothing, Woodley takes down Thompson where the referee Big John McCarthy almost stopped the fight only for it to continue and end as it’s time for the judges to score each round.

Tyron Woodley retains his Welterweight Championship after a majority decision after the judges final score being 48-47.

Can Stephen Thompson Overcome the Odds.

At UFC 205, Stephen Thompson went through hell with current Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley. Both men gave everything they had to try and end the match and win the gold.

After giving up all that they had, the judges would ultimately decide the match was a draw. Both men would be credited with a draw and the title remained with Woodley. The rematch was set.

And as it seemed destined to be, the match will take place at UFC 209. Thompson will look to threaten Woodley for his Championship. The title he has held since July of 2016 after defeating Robbie Lawler at UFC 201.

Those that know Thompson, widely regard him as one of the most accomplished strikers in the UFC. The fighter holds a record of 13-1 in the pros. Thompson also holds a 38-0 record in Amateur Kickboxing. In Kickboxing, he holds a 28-0 record. He’s accomplished this by putting in all his effort, in every fight he’s been in.

I believe Thompson will put an end to Woodley’s title reign and will forever prove why he’s known by many as the “Wonderboy.”

Who do you think will win the big fight?
